The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF) returns to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre 21 to 24th July 2016. This year a new area will showcase Australian based furniture, cabinet and joinery designers and makers.

In 3 months, The Australian International Furniture Fair (AIFF), Australia’s largest furniture trade show will return to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. Co-located with Décor+Design; the show is expected to be fully booked and exhibition space is currently 95% sold. Exhibitors include LaForma Australia that will substantially expand its range at the upcoming show to include alfresco and outdoor furniture. LaForma will also release its premium range of Spanish designed and beautifully made lounges, sofa beds and occasional chairs, plus, new and innovative dining pieces, lighting and accessories.

New for 2016 is “AIFF Loves Homemade”. This will be a dedicated area at the front of the exhibition to grow and foster Australian based furniture, cabinet and joinery designers and makers. Some of the confirmed exhibitors in this new area include Felix Furniture, an emerging Melbourne-based business that specialises in combining traditional and modern woodworking techniques to create unique pieces of contemporary furniture. Exposed plywood edges make the simplest of forms designer chic. Felix Furniture changes the perception of plywood, pushing the boundaries of its applications within contemporary homes.

Power to Make is uniquely set-up as a micro-manufacturing workshop by David Leggett and Paul Loh. From architectural backgrounds, David & Paul have transferred their design talents together with computational and detailing knowledge, to set up a digital design to production workshop launching their own furniture and product range.

Beeline Design is the Company of Furniture maker Adam Brislin and his partner Lucy; producing a range of timber furniture, homewares and lighting pieces for private and commercial clients. Good design and quality craftsmanship underpin every piece which is produced in their Preston workshop using only sustainably sourced timbers and the finest materials.

Tim Sykes Design was founded in 2012 by accomplished maker and family man, Tim Sykes. Tim aims to create pieces that last a lifetime, timeless and beautiful in design and function.
