CDK Stone hosted its Fabrication Innovation Event on March 7th and 8th, aimed at educating the industry on advancements and innovative factory practices. The event, held at CDK Stone’s Melbourne warehouse, showcased the latest in machinery, software, and automation, that are shaping the future of processing diverse materials.

Amid challenges such as limited staffing, factory space, and time constraints, businesses in the stone and related sectors seek ways to enhance operational efficiency. CDK Stone’s event aimed to educate attendees on the benefits of automation in factory operations, emphasising how their range of software and automation solutions can optimise production and planning efficiency.

Attendees were guided through CDK Stone’s array of specialised stone processing software and automation tools addressing the whole process Capture, Create, Produce. From capturing drafting and templating, creating and programming the design, to producing the final product through machinery processing.

The presence of Laser Products Industries Team who travelled from the U.S helped to showcase the LT-2D3D laser, revolutionising job measurements with rapid processing and accuracy, significantly reducing errors and time spent on remakes. Additionally, the Taglio Slab Vision vertical slab scanner impressed with its high-detail imaging capabilities.

SeKON software demonstrated how to get ahead of programming by setting up jobs from the office in advance, with the efficiency of applying a single drawing across multiple machines, saving time and minimising errors in production planning.

As a benefit of only programming once through SeKON, jobs can then be produced by sending the one file to multiple machines, with the option of accurately vein matching detailed jobs across multiple slabs from the office.

CDK had numerous European suppliers in attendance and a range of machinery on display from Burkhardt, Comandulli, GMM, Taglio and Thibaut. As a result of recent revolutions in the industry, the event saw a significant interest in live demonstrations on processing various materials, including porcelain, on the GMM Extra 480 and Techni Waterjet.

CDK Stone’s Fabrication Innovation Day succeeded in educating the market on the latest industry trends and practices with future events planned for different states. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to CDK Stone for further information.
