Since the end of 2015, IMA and Schelling have been subsidiaries of the IMA Schelling Group. In 2017; IMA’s order books are full and the group is now focused on new strategic business areas. IMA Klessmann GmbH; sold in Australia by the Wood Tech Group now sets course for successful business development.
IMA develops, produces and sells worldwide machines and systems for the processing of wood materials, especially edge banding machines and transport and handling systems. Solutions both in stationary technology and through feed technology are offered. The main manufacturers of kitchen, office and RTA furniture and also of doors and construction elements in Europe and around the World have been customers of IMA for many years. The company has a presence in more than 60 countries.
IMA is looking back on a successful and eventful 2016 and is looking optimistically to the future. The company made the most of the past year to equip itself for future challenges. With the new construction of a production hall, IMA expanded their production capacity and added the two future-oriented profit areas of robotics and plant control to its business areas. IMA is positioning itself more strongly than ever as a solution provider for the wood processing industry.
Order entry and inventory were at a historical high at the beginning of the financial year 2017. “The order books are full like they have not been for a long time”, says Bernhard Berger, Managing Partner of IMA. He sees this as an endorsement of the quality of IMA technology and also of the merger with the long-term Austrian partner company Schelling Anlagenbau to form the IMA Schelling Group (ISG). Both sister companies used the past year to perform restructuring. Synergies were created and the “sense of togetherness” was developed. The streamlining of the product portfolio and the combination of plant engineering and the development of a uniform plant control are still to come.
Bernhard Berger expects a growing order intake from the LIGNA year where the group exhibited on a massive 3,600 square metre stand. He looks to the future with confidence and said “We are well-equipped to realise even the most unusual projects and sophisticated plant solutions for wood processing for our customers, not least thanks to our highly skilled and motivated employees.” IMA has a strong active presence in social networks – especially Facebook, Xing, Aubi Plus and YouTube. With the IMA Service Portal and the IMA Service App, IMA has also developed tools for an even more professional service and fast and easy communication with service technicians.
