Mattress maker Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is investing more than USD100 million in new manufacturing plants and a multi-year advertising strategy.

During 2017, Serta Simmons will add four large facilities to its existing network of more than 30 plants. The company is currently fitting them with the latest equipment, as well as hiring and training a workforce. The new plants will be located in Houston; Moreno Valley, California; Seattle; and Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

In addition to running 2017 Serta and Beautyrest national advertising campaigns, SSB has introduced a co-op advertising strategy known as the Advantage Marketing Program, which it matches, dollar for dollar, the advertising spend of its retailers. Chief executive officer, Michael Traub said, “As the largest bedding manufacturer in the United States, we are committed to meeting the needs of all of our retail partners and helping them grow their business.

“Retailer response to our 2017 Serta and Beautyrest lines has been fantastic. We are excited to continue to invest in manufacturing in the United States, while also increasing consumer brand awareness to better support our retailers.”
